This July, HBA Greater Austin will host the NAHB Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation course series on July 7, 8, and 9 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the HBA Greater Austin classroom in Austin.
As the senior population continues to grow, more homeowners are looking for ways to safely and comfortably remain in their homes as they age. The CAPS credential equips builders, remodelers, contractors, occupational therapists, designers, and other professionals with the technical, business management, and customer service skills needed to serve this rapidly growing market.
The program focuses on:
• Aging-in-place home design and modifications
• Safety, accessibility, and universal design principles
• Client communication and assessment skills
• Solutions that help homeowners maintain independence and quality of life
This designation is especially valuable for professionals working in remodeling, custom building, healthcare, occupational therapy, accessibility, and senior services.
